KATEDRAL LARANTUKA

Larantuka is a subdistrict of east flores regency, on eastern end flores island, east nusa tenggra, Indonesia. Larantukka has strong a colonial Portuguese influence.  In this city has of Christian symbols like the statue of our lady ( Tuan Ma ), the statue of the lord Jesus ( tuan Ana ), churches and chapels.

In Tua  Ma chapel there are ornament under the care of malaka clan. These ornament will be washed and clean when the Good Friday procession. The celebrate center on two religious  statues, one of Jesus Christ ( Tua Ana ) and one of Virgin Mary statue (  Tua Ma ).  In the others chapel like Tua Menino Chapel there are has many statues from Portuguese like Menito Statue ( Jesus Child ), Rosary  statue (Jesus Mother ), cross and many more.

The touch of roman culture, Portuguese and Malays in conjunction with Christian religiosity, giving the impression and wonderful memories for everyone who visits.

CAVE MARY

Located  near the   monastery  of PRR   (PutriReinha Rosary) is a Sister Conggregation in weri, Larantuka. There are 10 stattion’s of the cross and we start at the first station and make our way up the hill until we are reach number 14. At the top we can relax and enjoy the view, overlooking Adonara and Larantuka. You can light some candles and pray iif you like, also you can enjoy a snack at the picnic tables provide by sisters. (a donation in box for the up keep, is voluntary but very much appreciated. After  that we can make our way back down thorghth sister garden, you can even visit the chapel, souvenir shop nd hotel in the Sisters Monastery. Located in Weri about 15 minutes from Larantuka town.

Mgr. Gabriel Manek Chapel

GABRIEL MANEK CAPEL

Situated at Sister monastery in Lebao about 15 minute s from larantuka. in this chapel lying the body of Mgr Gabriel Manek and Sister Anfrida ( the founder of PRR Conggregation ).   The others site in monastery  there are museum  and souvenir shop. In the museum collect the  Mgr Gabriel  Manek things and in  the souvenir shop you can find  the larantuka  souvenir.

Senyor Chapel In Wureh. 

Wureh is Village located in Adonaraisland in west Subdistict, it can be reached in 20 minutes from Larantuka city by sea transportation. This village has strong influenceof Portuguese culture. This can be recognized by the names of local people who adopt Portuguese names and collection of statues made by Portuguese from 15^th century and of course the famous catholic’s ritual of “Good Friday Procession” which is happened every year as well as celebrated in Larantuka city. Good  pilgrim tourism.
